the actual Game Boy screen your computer is playing — live — with the checkpoint
it is evaluating, how far it has got, and a pause button. Folding@home had to make a protein
simulation look interesting; here the unit of compute is already a game.
Your machine scores one checkpoint for an hour and sends back numbers — never files. It works on Windows, macOS or Linux, on Intel/AMD or ARM, and needs no GPU. You supply your own legally-dumped Pokemon Red ROM; none is distributed.

Contributed scores are advisory: they decide which checkpoints get measured next, and cannot put a model on the broadcast by themselves. That is deliberate, and explained in the write-up.
